    Description

ANTIQUE BLACK OWNED McEVANS & WALKER MERCHANT TAILOR WOODEN HANGER SHAW MISSISSIPPI
There is a small piece of wood missing from the top of the hanger but does not take away from its functionality or from the printed advertising.
Mr. McEvans was a prominent black business owner on the main street in the early days of Shaw. He owned at least 4 businesses including the funeral home along with the merchant and tailoring business.
The black high school was named for him and after integration, it became the elementary school.
This came from the A.P. and Kate Latimer home in Shaw.
Stored in a pet and smoke free home
    Thanks for stopping by!
