light is adjustable by changing amount of exposed wick while burning
uses 1/2 inch wide wick

will burn liquid paraffin, lamp oil, kerosene or citronella oil to repel insects
Do not overfill, there is a mark on the base of the lamp indicating max fill level, if you go over this like any other hurricane lantern they will leak

As with any open flame, not recommended for inside tents ( most tents today are made of a nylon type material that more melts than burns, leaving what or who ever is inside plastic coated in the event of a fire)
Always be careful with fire when little kids are present
We had several of these style lamps arround the house when I was growing up.  Provided light and just a little bit of heat for those frequent winter blackouts.  The best part was they could sit for years and years with oil in them waiting to be needed.  No batteries to have to worry about going dead.  And since they make a neet decoration piece, you can leave them out all the time where they are easy to find.
