Claudio Jimenez Quispe is an internationally renowned maker of retablos. Originally from a famous family of retablo makers in Ayacucho, he now works in Lima, Peru.
His Retablos and figurines are made by hand with a mix of cooked potato and plaster of paris. His works have appeared in major museum exhibitions, including the Smithsonian Institution where they are part of the permanent collection. Claudio has taught at universities and international conferences and his work is in many prestigious art collections.
