    DESCRIPTION: Beautiful Vintage Peruvian Chancay Two Seated Men Holding Each Others Ears Double Chambered Vessel / Urn Reproduction Figurine. Red Slipped Clay Pottery with Black, Tan and Red Slip Artwork. Marked. A Rare and Unusual wide mouth Chancay burial figure with other worldly features including thin arms and striking features. Nice details including large disk earrings, necklaces, toothy mouths and face, clothes and head covering art. Handmade, Marked as an official replica of Pre-Colombian Chancay burial art pottery. Lots of color and textural interest. This is an NOS New Old Stock item from a shop in Santa Fe, NM, that closed around 1985 and has been in storage since then. See the photos.
    MARKINGS: Has an ARTE CHANCAY inscibed under the foot. The foot also has a partial and unclear stamp with a handwritten model number and artifact number in black marker. As best I can understand, the stamp, it is from a museum or government agency that has cataloged Chancay pottery and shows that this is an official or authorized replica. See the photos.
