Vintage Intricate Hand Carved Gourd Storyteller Signed Simeon Limaylla

Description

this has exceptional detail, the story it tells is of someone who died in his bed and what steps were taken afterwards, this is only about 3 inches tall with carving over every inch including the bottom, one side of the gourd is much darker than the other i am guessing due to exposure ,the darker side is easy to see detail ,lighter side not so much but if you look close the detail is there,both top half and bottom half have numbered scenes , top half is 1 - 5 and bottom 1 - 6,on bottom of the gourd are numbered explanations of each scene

4 = Urdiendo  translates to Concocting
5 = Tejiendo translates to Weaving
BOTTOM
1 = A Muerto en su Cama Translates to He died in his bed
2 = LLevando El Atau Translates to Carrying the coffin
3 = Poniendo El Avito Translates to Putting the warning
4 = Cosinando translates to Cooking
5 = Llevando El Meurto Translates to Carrying the dead
6 = EnTerrando translates to on the terrace
