Vintage Retablo Nativity from Peru Holy Family Wise Men Animals

This is a lovely Vintage Retablo Nativity Scene. Although it is not marked, Peru is known for making these, and this one is consistent with the style of ones made there. Retablo were originally made as a sort of portable altar, for travelers. This one features the nativity scene, with Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the 3 Wise Men, and a variety of animals.
The box is painted wood, with leather straps for hinges. The figures are usually molded from a gypsum mixture, then painted and glazed. There is some minor chipping of the paint.
6 1/2" high (including the point) x 4 1/2" wide x 2 3/8" deep
The right side doesn't quite want to stay all the way open on its own.
